An insurance claim is an official request made by the policyholder to the insurance company for compensating for the loss/damage involving his/her insured car. The amount of claim that the policyholder is entitled to entirely depends on the type of policy purchased. How To Make A Cashless Shriram Car Insurance Claim?
Step 1: Claim Intimation
The first step involves informing Shriram General Insurance about the accident/mishap involving the insured car. For this, you can either call the Shriram Claims Help Desk (CHD) at 1800-300-30000/1800-103-3009.
Alternatively, you can visit the official website of Shriram General insurance, click on the ‘Claims’ tab present on the homepage and select the ‘Intimate a Claim’ option. Download and fill the claim settlement sheet available there and click the ‘Submit’ button. Post this, a shriram General Insurance representative will contact you for further details and instructions.
Step 2: Claim Registration
After receiving an intimation from you about the mishap involving your insured car, Shriram General Insurance will register your calsim and provide you with a claim reference number.
Step 3: Assessment of Suffered Loss
After the claim has been successfully registered, the insurer will assign a loss assessor/surveyor to you who will come to the spot of the mishap and assess the extent of damage suffered by your insured car. The details of the surveyor will be given to you via SMS/Email.
Step 4: Submission Of Documents
After the completion of survey of damage by the surveyor, you need to submit all the required documents to him/her for further processing of your claim.
Step 5: Repair And Final Claim Settlement
After submission of all the required documents get your car towed to the nearest Shriram General Insurance authorised garage and get it repaired. Free towing facility is provided by Shriram General Insurance up to 50 kilometres exceeding which, the policyholder is required to pay for the charges according to the terms and conditions of their policy.
The insurer will pay the entire repair cost subject to your claim amount to the workshop, you just need to pay for the compulsory deductible and voluntary deductible if you had opted for it at the time of policy purchase.
How To Make A Reimbursement Shriram Car Insurance Claim?
Step 1: Claim intimation
Inform the company about the road accident/mishap as soon as possible by calling their help desk at 1800-300-30000/1800-103-3009 or submitting the claim form available on their website.
The Shriram General Insurance claim intimation sheet can be downloaded by visiting the insurer’s official website, going to the ‘Claims’ tab and selecting the option for ‘Intimate a Claim’.
Step 2: Arrangement Of A Surveyor
After receiving the claim intimation, the insurer will assign a claim reference number to you and arrange a loss assessor to survey and evaluate the damage incurred by your insured car. You will receive the details of the surveyor via a text message/email on your registered mobile number.
Step 3: Submission Of The Required Documents
At the time of survey of your car, provide all the necessary documents to the surveyor to help him/her process the claim.
Step 4: Car Repairs
Get your car towed to the garage of your choice. Shriram General Insurance provides towing facilities with a charge of Rs. 295 during the time of policy issuance. If you opt for it, then you can avail free towing service up to 50 kilometres, exceeding which the towing expenses will be borne by you.
Step 5: Payment and Reimbursement
Pay the repair cost to the garage and initiate a reimbursement for the claim amount with the insurer. Shriram General Insurance will reimburse you the entitled claim amount within 7 working days provided that you furnish all the necessary documents and original receipts of the repairs in time.

- When a fraudulent claim with an exaggerated description of damages is presented by a policyholder.
- If the accident occurred due to mindful negligence on the part of the driver.
- If the accident occurred because the driver was under the influence of intoxicants like alcohol or drugs.
