A total of twelve Indian insurance companies, four co-operative insurance societies, five foreign insurers with Indian operations and the general insurance operations of the southern region of Life Insurance Corporation of India were merged with United India Insurance Company Limited.

Survey by the companyAfter informing the nearest office, the company will arrange a surveyor to inspect the accident and the damage caused to the vehicle. The surveyor will report to the company.
Inform the local police stationIn case of any third party injuries/deaths immediately inform the nearest police station and register an FIR. A copy of FIR will have to be submitted to the company.
Get the estimated cost of repairTow the vehicle to an authorized workshop and get the estimated cost of repairs, which, in turn, will be submitted to the company along with the claim form.
Let the company do the rest of the jobAfter all the formalities, the company will proceed with rendering the claim amount as soon as possible. The claim amount will depend on the type of coverage opted for while purchasing insurance.
