About New India

Founded by Sir Dorabji Tata in the year 1919, New India Assurance Co. Ltd, is a multinational General Insurance Company that has its headquarters in Mumbai, India. The good news is that in March 2017, New India’s business crossed Rs. 22,270 Crore. The company has been leading in Non-Life Business in India for over 40 years now. And notably, it is the only direct insurer in India, which is rated A-(Excellent) by AM Best Company since 2007. Apart from premium, the company has been leading in reserves and net worth for many years. 

Adding another feather to its cap, New India Assurance won The Best Insurer Award by Outlook Money Awards in the year 2015. Also recently, in the year 2017, it won three awards, viz., Golden Peacock Business Excellence Award by Golden Peacock, India Insurance Summit-Insurance Company of the Year by Quest Conferences, and Dun and Bradstreet BFSI Awards-India’s Leading Insurance Company-Non-Life Public Sector by Dun & Bradstreet.

Since the inception, New India Assurance has been engaged in overseas operations. Today, the company carries operation in 28 countries through direct branches, subsidiary companies, agency operations, associates and representative offices. Apart from this, the company boasts of equity participation in insurance companies in Kenya, Singapore, and Saudi Arabia.

    I found the family floater plan of New India Assurance a fair one as i got fairly all the required coverage features for myself and my family members. I wont say that the premium amount is high, will there is no doubt the the policy is covering me with most of the coverage features such as ambulance cover, in-patient hospitalisation expenses, pre and post hospitalisation expenses, room and boarding charges, etc. I couldn’t have asked for more in such affordable premium.

  • good policy
