DHFL Car Insurance Add on Covers
Car insurance add-ons are extra coverages which help you extend the coverage of your car insurance plan. These add-ons are available with standalone own-damage and comprehensive car insurance plans against an extra premium.
DHFL - 15 Important Add-on Covers For Your Car Insurance Policy
DHFL General Insurance offers the following car insurance add-ons
1. Zero Depreciation Cover
It relieves you from bearing the depreciation applicable on your car and all its parts, except tyres, tubes and batteries which are covered for depreciation at 50%. This add-on helps you to make significant savings in terms of saved depreciation expense.
2. Consumable Expenses Cover
This add provides you coverage for consumables such as nuts, bolts and oils etc associated with your car which invariably are a part of any claim you report to the insurer. This add-on thus helps you get complete protection for your car.
3. NCB (No Claim Bonus) Secure
This add-on helps you protect the NCB you are entitled to receive even if one claim is reported during the policy period. However, that one claim should not be for theft or total loss. However, even in case of theft of your car, NCB protection will be available provided your car was a new car purchased and insured with the insurer within 90 days of settlement of claim.
4. New Car for Old Car
In case of total loss or theft of your car, this cover provides you the difference between IDV (Insured Declared Value) and Invoice value of the new car of the same make and model enabling you to replace your car easily without any monetary loss to you. Invoice price includes ex showroom, road tax and Registration expenses.
5. Engine Protector
It covers damage to engine and transmission parts due to ingress of water and/or leakage of oil due to external impact on the car. This cover safeguards you from heavy expenses related to such incidents.
6. Accidental Hospitalisation Cover
Unfortunate accident to your car may cause injury to you, your paid driver and occupants of your car and may require In-patient / out-patient treatment in hospital/nursing home. By opting for this add-on, you can get protection from such unforeseen expenses upto Rs. 5 lakhs against such medical expenses including ambulance charges.
7. Hospital Cash Cover
This coverage helps you to cover daily expenses incurred during hospitalisation involving you, driver including your paid driver and occupants of your car due to an accident of your car up to maximum of Rs. 3,000 per day. You will get this benefit for a maximum of 5 days from the date of admission per person up to the seating capacity of car, provided hospitalisation exceeds 3 days.
8. EMI Protector
Under this add-on, you are covered for up to 3 EMI’s of your insured car if due to any accidental injury involving insured car you are hospitalised for more than 7 days.
9. Outstanding Loan Protector
You can choose to transfer your car loan related worries to DHFL General Insurance by opting for this add-on. Your Outstanding Loan amount on the car will be covered against risk of your death, permanent total disablement due to an accident involving your car.
10. Daily Conveyance Allowance
When your car is under repair, the insurer will pay you an amount to take care of your conveyance charges till the time your car is repaired for a maximum period of 15 days.
11. NCB Protector - Repair of Non-Metallic Parts
Repair of parts is cost-effective instead of replacement. If you choose to repair a claim of non-metallic parts like plastic, fibre, glass instead of replacement, NCB slab in your policy will not get impacted for one such claim if you opt for this add-on.
12. Personal Belonging Protector
Under this add-on, the insurer will pay you for the loss or damage to the personal belongings of you and occupants of your car while lying in the car but excluding jewellery, money, paintings and articles of similar nature.
13. Emergency Transport and Hotel Stay Cover
If your car is immobilized due to an accident, the insurer will pay you the cost of overnight stay and/or travel cost for you and occupants of your car.
14. Key and Lock Replacement Cover
In case your car key gets lost or stolen or the lock gets damaged, the insurer will pay you the cost of key and/or lock replacement expenses up to the sum insured chosen by you.
15. Tyre Replacement Cover
In case of loss or damage to tyre, the insurer pays you the cost of replacement of tyres. You have the option to choose protection- with/without reduction for depreciation of tyre.
