      You may reach your nearest branch to avail a duplicate copy against a nominal fee.

    • Can I cancel my car insurance policy midway?

      Yes, a policy can be terminated midway and the unused premium can be refunded on a short period basis provided alternate insurance proof is provided and there is no claim lodged in the policy.

    • My vehicle is financed by the SBI Bank. Shall I need to mention the same in my policy?

      Yes, it is necessary to incorporate that in the policy document. It should be mentioned under heading financier details.

    Zero Depreciation

    • What is Depreciation?

      Depreciation is the continuous loss of value of a asset with time. Your car, just like any other asset, is also subjected to depreciation with a pre-decided rate.

    • Should I file a claim if my car got minor dents in an accident?

      It is highly recommended not to lodge claims for minor damages. You can file a maximum of two claims with Zero Dep add-on cover during the policy term.

    • I have purchased the Zero Dep add-on, will I get full claim now?

      No. This is because the Zero Dep add-on cover only exempts you from paying the depreciation amount of your car. You will still be liable to pay for the things that are not covered under your policy.

    • How can I know the quote for a comprehensive car insurance policy with Zero Dep add-on cover?

    • Will SBI General compensate me for the expenses incurred while giving medical aid to the third-party?

      Yes, definitely. You just need to keep the bill/receipts of all the expenses incurred while seeking any medical attention. Submit those along with necessary documents during the claim settlement process and you will be reimbursed as soon as possible.

    • What if the accident occurred when my car is being driven by any other person?

      You can extend the legal liabilities for any paid driver/conductor/cleaner employed in operation of the vehicle. However, this cover is not available by default and you need to purchase it against an extra cost.

    • Do I need to renew the policy every year?

      No, there is no need to renew the policy every year. SBI General Act Only is a long term policy for 3 years, which eliminates the need for annual auto-renewal.

    • I have lost the insurance Policy. Can I get a duplicate one?

      Yes. Just approach the nearest branch and submit a written request. A nominal fee will be charged to furnish a duplicate copy of your insurance policy.

    • Is No Claim Bonus available with the Act Only cover?

      Yes, you are entitled to get No Claim Bonsu (NCB) discount with Act Only cover if no claim is filed during the policy tenure. Also, the discount increases for every claim-free years, up to 5 years.

    • Can I buy a SBI General comprehensive car policy premiums online?

    • Will I be entitled to any discount if no claim is filed during the policy tenure?

      Yes, you will be entitled to get No Claim Bonus (NCB) if no claim is lodged during the insurance period. The discount increases for every claim-free years up to 5 years.

      This is only possible if you have the NCB Protection add-on cover over your standard SBI insurance policy. However, this protection will also become void if more than one claim is filed during the policy period.

    • Can I cover my personal belonging in the existing policy?

      Yes, you can get your personal belongings covered against payment of an additional premium. However, this allowance only covers the personal belongings of the policyholder and not others travelling in your car.

      No, filing an FIR at the local police station is only mandatory if the accident results in serious injuries to a person, theft of the vehicle and third-party property damage.

    • When should I renew my SBI car insurance policy?

      You should renew your car insurance policy before its expiry. You can also renew it within 90 days after missing the last renewal date but in case that you would be required to get an inspection done for your car.
