About Bharti AXA Smart Health Essential Health Insurance

Smart Health Essential Policy compensates you and your family members for hospitalisation expenses arising due to treatment of any illness/disease/injury in the form of daily allowance for the days that you have been insured for. It is an annual policy that can be bought for 12 months, after which you are required to renew the policy. You can buy this policy if you are aged between 91 days and 65 years. Note that children aged less than 5 years can only be included under the policy if either or both the parents are included under the policy. You can buy this policy on an individual or family floater basis and include self, legally wedded spouse, up to 2 dependent children aged up to 23 years.

Smart Health Essential Policy comes in three variants namely Plan A, Plan B, and Plan C. Plan A covers you for Rs. 1,000 per day for 60 days after the first 3 days, Rs. 2,000 per day for 90 days after the first 3 days, and Rs. 3,000 per day for 120 days after the first 3 days respectively. Additional features that the policy comes with include a free look period of 15 days, tax benefits under Section 80D of the Income Tax Act, 1961, renewal discount, lifetime renewability benefit, grace period, pre-policy check-up, renewal discount, and portability benefits.

Key Inclusions and Exclusions of the Plan

What's Included

  • Payment of fixed daily allowance if the insured is hospitalised for any treatment of a disease/illness/injury during a policy period, if the hospitalisation exceeds 3 days
  • The benefits is applicable for multiple times, for up to sum insured
  • If the insured gets hospitalised in ICU, then the daily cash benefit will get doubled, paid for 5 days after the first 3 days. The plan is applicable to Plan B and C
  • 5% renewal discount yearly on claim free renewal for up 25%

What's Not Included

  • Expenses related to treatment required due to participation as a professional, in adventure sports or hazardous activities like rock climbing, rafting, etc.
  • Change of gender treatments and weight control treatments are excluded
  • Expenses for cosmetic or plastic surgery or any treatment related to change of appearance unless following an accident
  • Claims arising during 30 days waiting period are excluded underthe plan
