  • Is pre-acceptance medical check-up required for policyholders to seek cover for critical illness?

    Yes. Pre-medical test is required in critical illness plan offered by New India Assurance. All the people entering after 50 years of age for the first time must undergo this test. 

  • Does the critical illness plan offered by New India Assurance cover all cases of hospitalisation?

    No. The critical illness plan offered by New India Assurance does not cover all cases of hospitalisation. There are some exclusions to the plan too which can be found from the attached brochure.

Portability

  • Will I lose my credits earned from the previous policy if I port to a new health insurance policy from New India Assurance?

    No. The company will transfer the credits earned in your account in case you port to a new health insurance policy from New India Assurance.

    Portability can be opted for only when your insurance policy is due for renewal and not at any other time. 

Premium

  • I have a mediclaim policy available but I am moving abroad for a month. Will I be refunded with the premium involved?

    No. The premium amount will not be refunded. However, your New India Assurance policy will stand suspended for the said time period. The validity of the plan shall be extended for the same period after the scheduled expiry date.

    I found the family floater plan of New India Assurance a fair one as i got fairly all the required coverage features for myself and my family members. I wont say that the premium amount is high, will there is no doubt the the policy is covering me with most of the coverage features such as ambulance cover, in-patient hospitalisation expenses, pre and post hospitalisation expenses, room and boarding charges, etc. I couldn’t have asked for more in such affordable premium.
