About Care Corona Kavach Health Insurance
Corona Kavach Policy offered by Care Health Insurance is a standard medical insurance policy that offers cover for expenses related to COVID-19, to the insured. Available on an individual or family floater basis, the policy covers people aged between 18 years and 65 years. When buying cover under the policy, you can choose from various sum insured options, which start from as low as Rs. 50,000 and go up to Rs. 5 Lakh. It is an indemnity based policy that comes with short policy terms. You can buy it for 3.5 months (105 days), 6.5 months (195 days), and 9.5 months (285 days).
Corona Kavach Policy offered by Care Health Insurance was launched by the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDA). If covered under the policy, you do not need to worry about basic healthcare expenses related to treatment of COVID-19. These include in-patient hospitalisation expenses, pre-hospitalisation and post-hospitalisation expenses, road ambulance expenses, AYUSH treatment expenses, home care treatment expenses, etc. But the policy comes with a waiting period of 15 days, after which only you will be able to make any claim. Kindly note that the waiting period is calculated from the date of commencement of the policy.

What is the eligibility for Corona Kavach Policy offered by Care Health Insurance?
The proposer for Corona Kavach Policy offered by Care Health Insurance must be aged at least 18 years. Whereas the minimum and maximum entry age for this plan is 5 years for an individual and 1 day for a child (on family floater basis) if at least 1 member is aged at least 18 years. Kindly note that if the Proposer is aged more than 70 years, then he/she can buy the policy for the family, without covering self.
