- Private vehicles are to have a plate with white background and black writing.

- Vehicles used for commercial transportation are supposed to have yellow number plates with black writing.
- Rental cabs are to have yellow license plates with black writing.
How To Get A Number Plate When You Purchase A New Car?
When you purchase a new car, your car dealer might ask you to apply for a temporary registration number that is valid for a month. This temporary registration number is valid but you are still required to register your car for a permanent registration number.
Once you receive the number and documents of the car, you must purchase a number plate for both the back and front of your car. This plate must follow the guidelines prescribed by the RTO. It must be colored according to the category of your car.
