  • Self Attested ID,
  • Pan Card
  • Address Proof

What is the Process of Getting a Registration Certificate for a New Car?

Follow these steps to apply for a registration certificate for a new car:

Step 1: The above-mentioned forms are available online. Print them, fill them up and attach the required documents along with it.

Step 2: Take the documents and your car to your respective Registration Authority Office (RAO). Here the car will go through a physician analysis. They will check things such as the emission and pollution levels. Make sure to have valid car insurance and identification for this.

Step 3: If the RAO inspection is successful you will then have to pay the fees. This amount will vary depending on the regional taxation requirements. The fees usually depend on the showroom price of the car.

Step 4: Once the fees are cleared and all other documents are provided a temporary registration number will be provided to you. The permanent registration certificate will arrive within 30 days of filing for it.
