You must file a vast amount of documentation when selling a bike or migrating to another region in India. In order to complete the procedure, both the buyer and seller, as well as the owner, must produce essential papers and obey all requirements. The NOC, or No Objection Certificate, is one of the documentation required when moving a bike from one jurisdiction to another. If you want to sell or purchase a used bike or transport it from one state to another, you'll need to understand what a NOC is and how to obtain one. The following article goes over every aspect of a vehicle's NOC, including its meaning, documentation, and how to get one.

No Objection Certificate - How To Apply Online?

How To Get A No Objection Certificate Online?

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways' website, Parivahan, now offers an online option for obtaining a NOC. Not all governments, however, have made it easy to apply for a NOC via the internet. Before you go any further, double-check if your state offers online NOC. The processes for obtaining a No Objection Certificate for your motorcycle are as follows:

  • Go to the webpage for 'Parivahan.'
  • After entering your vehicle's registration number, click 'Proceed.'
  • On the redirected page, select 'Application for No Objection Certificate' from the drop-down menu.
  • On the next screen, enter the last five digits of your vehicle's chassis number.
  • Fill in all of the requested information and attach any required papers.
  • Finally, pay the costs for the RTO with whom you're working.
  • Print both the application form and the acknowledgment receipt that has been generated.
  • Deliver the application form, acknowledgment slip, and other essential documents to the RTO in person.

Following document verification, you may expect your NOC to be approved as soon as feasible.

What Is a Bike No Objection Certificate?

A No Objection Certificate is a legal document issued by the Regional Transport Office (RTO) that authorizes the discharge of a vehicle's jurisdiction authority. When a bike obtains a NOC from the RTO where it was initially registered, it is ready to be registered in the jurisdiction of another RTO with all necessary licenses. It authenticates a vehicle's transfer at an existing RTO, for example, without the requirement for challans, dues, or taxation. The No Objection Certificate for a two-wheeler is a legal document that states the issuing agency or bank has no objections to the information on the certificate. The NOC is provided by the bank for loan repayment, and it may be used to remove or cancel the bike's hypothecation to the bank, or by the RTO if you want to register your bike with a new RTO. The NOC is necessary in both cases in order to proceed with the operation.

Validity of Your Bike's No Objection Certificate

NOCs are only good for 6 months from the date of issuing. If you are migrating a motorcycle from one state to another, be sure to re-register the bike with your new jurisdictional RTO within this time limit. When a bike is sold and the buyer must register it with a new RTO in another state within six months, the same rules apply. The certificate's validity expires if the conditions aren't completed, and the procedure of obtaining a NOC for a bike must be repeated from the beginning.

Take Away

The NOC is necessary to register your bike within the jurisdiction of the new RTO if you have migrated to a new State or within the State. The new RTO will not register your bike if you do not provide the NOC. You'll also need to submit the bank's NOC to register the bike in the new owner's name if you're selling your bike and it was hypothecated to a bank for a bike loan. The RTO will not cancel the hypothecation without the bank's NOC. As a result, the NOC is a necessary legal document that must be obtained for a number of reasons.
