List of Edelweiss Car Insurance Add-On Covers

The add-on covers by Edelweiss Car Insurance provide you with a complete package of facilities, which helps you incur maximum benefits from your car insurance policy. Let us look at some of the add-on covers that are available:

  • Engine Protect

In a standard policy package, the wear and tear of mechanical or electrical parts aren't included but can be included along with an engine protect add-on in your existing policy. During a policy period, just one claim is applicable, where the insurer pays for the labor or manual charges also, that are incurred during the repair.

  • Depreciation Protect

A zero depreciation top-up plan renounces the liabilities of depreciation from the insured, as a result of which the policyholder gets higher claim amounts. It's recommended to get your damaged car repaired in the linked garage to avail maximum benefits because the company deducts 10% claim amount on vehicles repaired in non-authorized garages.

  • Mandatory Deduction Protect

This add-on will confirm that the insurer waives off the mandatory deductibles stated within the policy. It's available for cars with an age of 5 years or less and can be claimed only once within the entire policy tenure.

  • NCB Protect

A No Claim Bonus protect add-on helps in retaining the NCB discount even after filing two claims within the policy tenure. In this cover, the policy must be renewed within 3 months of the date of expiry to enjoy all the advantages.

  • Invoice Value Protect

Along with the extra premium, the insurer will pay the complete listed showroom price of the vehicle regardless of the IDV mentioned within the documents. The vehicle must be up to three years in age.

  • Consumable Expenses Protect

Under this policy cover, the corporate will indemnify the value of repair or replacement of damaged consumables just in case the vehicle gets damaged in an accident or the other cause mentioned within the policy terms and conditions.

  • Key And Lock Protect

Under this policy, the insurer has to pay the expense of the repair of the key/lock just in case of injury or loss. The policyholder must lodge an FIR within 48 hours regarding the event of loss/damage of key/lock to avail of all the advantages .

  • Roadside Assistance

Against the payment of additional premiums, the company has to pay Roadside Assistance (RSA) in cases of a flat tyre, dead battery, misplaced keys, contaminated or shortage of fuel, mechanical or electrical breakdown, accident or mishap resulting in immobilization of the car.

  • Personal Belonging Protect

If the policyholders or anyone related to them suffers loss or damage to their personal belongings due to the insured events as mentioned in the T&Cs, then the company will make the payments for the loss.

Conclusion

You must choose the add-on covers based on your requirements and based on the list of things that are excluded in your standard car insurance policy. You must go through the policy-related documents carefully and have a sound awareness of the terms and conditions.
