You will have to visit the Regional Transport Office (RTO) in the new state to file for a road tax refund. You will need the below given documents for the transfer process:

Why Is It Important to Transfer Vehicle Ownership?

When any two-wheeler vehicle is sold from one individual to another individual resulting in the change in ownership of a motorcycle, the required and valid documents should contain the name of the new owner of the two-wheeler. The same process has to be processed in case of a Registration Certificate (RC). In this manner, the legal and financial liabilities associated with the two-wheeler vehicle  are transferred from the one owner to the new owner of the vehicle.

A proper knowledge of RC transfer is essential before you opt for the process. If you drive your vehicle without an authentic RC, you will be liable to legal punishment. Make sure to get hold of the RC if you are taking over a second-hand car or bike.
