About New India Mediclaim Health Insurance

New India Mediclaim Policy brought to you by New India Assurance is a comprehensive medical insurance policy that gets you and your family covered with unforeseen hospitalisation expenses. The proposer of this policy can include Self, Spouse, Parents and Children, and all the individuals proposed under this policy should be aged between 18 years to 65 years. The Proposer can also include financially dependent children if they are aged between 18 years to 25 years. The policy is valid for a period of one year from the date of start of the policy.

The list of benefits provided under this policy is huge. Some of the major benefits that the policyholders can enjoy here are - in-patient hospitalisation cover, facility of getting treated anywhere in India, cumulative bonus offer, wide range of sum insured options, and so on. Another benefit of being covered under this policy is that a newborn baby of the insured mother will be covered from the date of birth until the policy gets expired, without paying any extra premium. To get continued coverage for the child, you need to add him/her under the policy at the time of renewal.

Add-ons to Enhance Benefits

  • No Proportionate Deduction

    Policyholders can avail this benefit only if they are purchasing this policy for a Sum Insured of at least Rs. 2 Lakh. If an additional premium is paid, the clause of proportionate deduction will stand deleted.

  • Maternity Expenses Benefit

    Policyholders can avail this benefit only if they buy this policy for a sum insured of at least Rs. 5 Lakh. When an additional premium is paid, the maternity expenses shall be payable up to 10% of the average sum insured after 36 months of a waiting period. This limit is applicable for every event for all the Policies provided by New India Assurance including Group Policies.

  • Revision in Limit of Cataract

    The company provides this benefit only to the policyholders who have purchased this policy for a minimum sum insured of Rs. 8 Lakh. On payment of additional premium, an additional limit shall be applicable.

  • Voluntary Co-pay

    If an insured individual opts for voluntary co-pay of 20%, a discount of 15% shall be given on the premium payable by him/her.

  • Can I undergo treatment anywhere under this policy?

    No. Only treatments undergone in India are covered under this policy. 

  • Can I make a request for claim under this plan without getting hospitalised?

    No. Unless an insured person is hospitalised for a valid reason, the claim is not paid. OPD is not covered under this policy.  

  • Who all can be included under this policy?

    You can include yourself, i.e. the Proposer, your spouse, your children, and your parents.
