Either way, once the tenure of your car insurance policy is approaching expiry, it is important to purchase new car insurance or to renew the existing policy.
Importance of Renewing Car Insurance
The following are the reasons why it is important for you to renew your car insurance policy:
Be A Law Abiding Citizen
It is mandatory by law according to the Motor Vehicles Act of 1989 that you have a valid car insurance policy when you drive your car on Indian roads. Therefore, in order to be a law-abiding citizen as well as a responsible person, you must renew your car insurance policy before its expiry.
Get Financial Protection
Car insurance also helps you by giving you financial protection in case any accident or calamity befalls you or your vehicle. If you get into an accident and a third party is injured or sustains damage to their vehicle, you will be financially and legally liable for it if you do not have any car insurance during this time. Furthermore, you will have to pay for any repairs to your own vehicle. To avoid this heavy financial liability, make sure your car insurance is renewed on time.
