About Hummer

Hummer cars were originally manufactured by AM General Corporation that used to be a division of AMC Jeep's General Products. Hummer was a brand of SUVs and trucks when it was first marketed in 1992. It was the time when AM General started selling a civilian version of the M998 Humvee car. After getting discontinued in 2010, Hummer cars are to be back as the sub-brand of GMC from 2021. In 1998, General Motors (GM) bought the brand name from AM General and launched the Hummer H1, H2 and H3 models. In 2010, the dealerships of Hummer began to shut down but in 2020, it returned not as a different brand but with two models comprising an SUV and Electric pickup truck that were to be sold under the GMC brand with the name "GMC Hummer EV", the manufacturing of which is scheduled to begin in 2021.

Hummer Car Insurance

When you buy a Hummer car, it is also essential to carry car insurance with driving it. Car insurance covers the damage or loss sustained by your car. It provides financial assistance to policyholders in adverse circumstances or uncertainties comprising accidents, fire, vandalism, natural disasters and manmade calamities. To hold an own-damage or comprehensive car insurance plan can help you get over almost all types of hardships arising with the collision of the insured car.

To hold at least a third party insurance while driving a Hummer car is a compulsion. This coverage is designed to look after your incurred liabilities towards third-party for their injuries, death and property damage. The compensation for property damage is limited to Rs 7.5 lakh. If you get caught driving a Hummer car without a third-party insurance cover, it will get you punished with a penalty of Rs. 2,000 and/or imprisonment for up to 3 months.

The premium for third-party cover is uniform while the premium own-damage and comprehensive insurance plan are based on the Insured Declared Value of the car, which is computed by deducting the depreciation rate from the selling price of the car. The IDV can be referred to the maximum amount of compensation an insurance company is entitled to offer in case of an accident or a mishap. The depreciation of the car increases with its age, hence, the older the car will be, the lesser the premium will be.

To enhance the car insurance policy cover of your Hummer car, you can purchase different types of add-on covers. They are optional covers including which can enhance the coverage as well as the premium of the car insurance. Add-on covers are designed to provide flexibility to every individual’s needs. Let’s discuss some top add-on cover that you should buy for your Hummer car:

The consumables add-on cover is meant to cover such expenses and help you bring your repair cost low. The compensation offered under this cover is for different sorts of consumables such as grease, lubricant, coolant, air conditioner gas and bearings, oil filter, etc.
