In this article, we’ll help you know the factors you should consider to keep your bike healthy. Continue reading to find more information!

Debunking Tips For Your Bike Maintenance

Here’re a few tips to help you keep your bike in good condition and increase its lifespan.

  • Engine Oil Maintenance:

Engine oil in the bike is similar to the water for the trees. Whether you own a new bike or have been using it for a long time, it is necessary to change its oil at regular intervals. However, older bikes with high mileage need to get their oil checked more frequently.

  • Condition of Tyres:

Frequent travelling with two-wheelers may lead to damage to tyres. Therefore, you should periodically examine to make sure your tyre is not exhibiting any symptoms of wear and tear. Besides this, you must regularly examine the air pressure of your tyres to prolong their life span and enjoy flawless travelling.

  • Motorcycle Chain:

Motorbike chains are also popular as drive chains help in transferring power from the bike’s engine to its rear wheel. After each ride, grease the drive chain while it is still warm. Therefore, in order to extend the lifespan of your bike, make sure it has the proper amount of lubricant.

  • Brake Pads:

Ensure that you avoid heading out on a ride with faulty bike breaks and test them before every ride. Additionally, you should check the brake fluid level and replace it every one or two years to ensure that your brakes continue to function properly. Inspect your brake pads as well, and replace them before they come into contact with the metal.

  • Air Filter:

In order to have a smooth riding experience, it is important to clean the air filter regularly with compressed air. If the filter of your bike is clogged, then it will put more pressure on its engine. Henceforth, if the engine is too dirty to get clean, it may be necessary to replace it with the new one.

  • Avoid Sun Exposures:

If you keep your bikes under excessive sunlight, it may lead to colour degradation, fuel evaporation, tyre damage, and many other harmful effects. Hence, avoid parking your two-wheelers in sunlight for a longer period of time. Moreover, wash your bikes regularly to keep them clean and healthy.

  • Battery Of Bike:

Another factor that you should focus on is maintaining the battery of your bike. Make sure that the distilled level of your bike is appropriate and that the batteries are fully charged. Moreover, you must check that the terminals are installed correctly and well-lubricated.

Conclusion

You spend your hard-earned money on purchasing two-wheelers. Therefore, bikes can turn out to be the best long-term asset if you will take care of them. You can consider the above-mentioned pointers in order to keep your bike healthy for a longer period of time.
