    1. M Student Visa

    M Student Visa is applicable for students who go to the US for pursuing vocational courses, non-academic courses, or any training programmes. The M Student visa is also of two types:

    • M-1 Student Visa: Any foreign student who wishes to pursue a vocational course in the US is eligible to apply for an M-1 Student Visa. However, those applying for this visa must submit an I-20 form as proof that they will be able to work all the expenses. Also, a work permit in the US is not allowed for those students who apply for an M-1 Student Visa.

    M-2 Student Visa: This type of M Student Visa is applicable to the dependent of the M-1 Student visa holder. The dependent includes a spouse and minor children of the M-1 Student visa holder.

Offline

  • For the offline visa application, students can visit the US Embassy or US consultant and ask for the visa form.

  • Next, they fill out the visa application form with all the required details.

  • Then, an interview will be conducted and the examining officer will confirm whether the student is eligible for a visa or not. Followed by this, a student visa will be issued to the applicant.

Online

  • First, you need to click on the official website of the US Consular Electronic Application Centre.

  • Fill out all the details and form DS-160 very carefully. Also, take a printout of the DS-160 form for future reference.

  • Then, you also need to upload a photo based on the given format. It must be a clear picture with your face facing the camera and there should be no headphones, eyeglasses, etc.

  • Next, pay the visa fees with a preferred payment method. Please note that this fee is non-refundable.

  • After successfully completing the visa application form, you need to schedule your visa interview. Generally, the interview is not required for those aged below 13 years. Once you can clear the interview, your student visa will be approved.
