About SBI Critical Illness Health Insurance

Critical Illness Insurance policies cover expenses incurred during hospitalisation due to critical illnesses. Treating life-threatening diseases no doubt requires several visits to the hospitals for a long period and costs high medical expenses. Other than hospitalisation costs, there are many other expenses you need to bear like doctor visits, medical costs, ambulance charges, etc. Keeping all these in mind, SBI General offers Critical Illness Insurance Policy. This is one of a kind of policy, which provides coverage for 13 most crucial critical illnesses.

These 13 life-threatening diseases include kidney failure, cancer, hypertension, major organ transplant, multiple sclerosis, coronary artery bypass graft, heart valve surgery, aorta graft surgery, stroke, coma, total blindness, first heart attack, and paralysis. Once diagnosed with any of these diseases, the SBI Critical Illness Insurance Policy provides a fixed lump sum amount, irrespective of your actual medical expenses. This amount can be used to pay off the highly expensive medical treatment costs of any of these critical illnesses. Thus, this medical insurance policy lets you stay financially stable even during odd hours. The good news is that this lump sum payout is paid in addition to any health insurance or mediclaim policy that you already own.

Last year we bought SBI-Critical Illness Insurance Policy from InsuranceDekho. As I bought the plan for the first time and didn't know much about the renewal and claiming process I reached out to the support team of InsuranceDekho. I had a great time talking with their executive. He guided me through the renewal process easily.
