Basic Features:

  • All health insurance companies will adhere to IRDAI Notifications regarding the Mashak Rakshak policy.
  • Uniform coverage terms and conditions will apply to all policies, and no variations are permitted.

  • Policies will only be issued for a one-year duration.
  • The minimum insured amount is set at Rs 10,000, with a maximum limit of Rs 2 lakhs.

What Will The Policy Cover?

Hospitalisation Benefit: A lump sum payment equal to 100% of the Sum Insured will be disbursed upon the confirmed diagnosis of any of the following vector-borne diseases. Hospitalisation for a minimum continuous period of 72 hours is required.

  • i. Dengue fever
  • ii. Malaria
  • iii. Filaria (Lymphatic Filariasis)
  • iv. Kala-azar
  • v. Chikungunya
  • force Japanese Encephalitis
  • vii. Zika Virus

Diagnosis Cover: A payment of 2% of the sum insured will be made upon the positive diagnosis (confirmed by a medical practitioner through laboratory examination) of each covered vector-borne disease during the policy's coverage period. This payment is subject to the policy's terms and conditions. The policyholder is eligible for "diagnosis cover" payments for each disease only once per policy year.

Major Exclusions Under Mashak Rakshak Policy
