About National National Super Top-up Mediclaim Health Insurance
National Super Top-Up Mediclaim Policy is a high deductible indemnity health insurance product that covers you and your family members under a single sum insured. You can seek cover either on an individual basis or family floater basis. It is a super top-up policy which means that you can avail a claim only if the cumulative medical expenses covered under the policy, exceeds the threshold, either for the insured or for the family. The policy covers you for basic healthcare expenses including daycare treatments, in-patient hospitalisation expenses, pre-hospitalisation and post-hospitalisation expenses, treatment related to allopathy ayurveda, and homeopathy, organ donor’s expenses, ambulance expenses, bariatric surgery and maternity expenses.
You can purchase National Super Top-up Mediclaim Policy if you are aged between 18 years and 65 years, for self, legally wedded spouse, dependent legitimate or legally adopted children, parents/parents-in-law, newborn babies aged between 3 months and 18 months. The policy comes with a wide range of sum insured options between Rs. 3 Lakh and Rs. 20 Lakh and deductibles between Rs. 2 Lakh and Rs. 10 Lakh. If purchased on an individual basis, both threshold and sum insured shall apply on an individual basis on every insured person. Whereas if purchased on a family floater basis, both threshold and sum insured shall apply on floater basis to all the insured people. You can purchase this policy irrespective of if you have a base health insurance policy or not.

Can I avail cumulative bonus under National Super Top-up Mediclaim Policy?
Cumulative bonus shall increase by 5% of sum insured for every claim free year, subject to a maximum of 50% of the sum insured. The cumulative bonus shall decrease by 5% of the sum insured in case you make any claim during the policy tenure.

Can I cancel my National Super Top-up Mediclaim Policy? Will I get a premium refund if I cancel it?
Yes. You can cancel your National Super Top-up Mediclaim Policy by giving a 15 days written notice. In this case, the company shall refund premium for the unexpired policy period as mentioned below:
- If the period of risk is up to 1 month, then the premium will be charged ¼ of the annual rate
- If the period of risk is up to 3 months, then the premium will be charged ½ of the annual rate
- If the period of risk is up to 6 months, then the premium will be charged ¾ of the annual rate
- If the period of risk is exceeding 6 months, then the premium will be charged for full annual rate.

What is the free look period under National Super Top-up Mediclaim Policy?
National Super Top-up Mediclaim Policy comes with a free look period of 15 days, calculated from the date of policy issuance. During this period, you can go through the terms and conditions of the policy, and return the same if it does not suit you.
