You may not be up to date with all the latest two wheeler technologies that can improve your riding experience. Read on to find out all about them.

Technology is constantly changing and transforming to provide better features. The automobile industry is no exception to this change. Two wheelers and the technologies available in them are constantly revamped to keep up with the changing times, making them more and more powerful alongside making them much easier and smoother to ride. They are also becoming safer in numerous ways. The constant upgrades to the latest technologies can be difficult to keep track of. Read on to find out about some of the most exciting technologies available in two wheelers that you should be aware of.

Exciting Two-Wheeler Technologies That You Should Know Of

Here is a handy list of two wheeler technologies and features that you should be aware of:

1. Anti-Lock Braking System

Anti-Lock Braking System or simply ABS is a technology that kicks in if you brake hard and prevents the wheels of your bike from locking in such a situation. This allows your bike to have a better grip on the road and prevents skidding and also prevents your bike from losing balance and tipping over when you brake hard. This can be a lifesaving mechanism in a situation where you need to brake hard in order to avoid a crash.

2. Slipper Clutch

A slipper clutch is a customised clutch which has a freewheel mechanism integrated into it. It has been developed with high-performance motorcycles in mind and it helps to control the adverse effects of engine braking when you decelerate. It partially disengages at the point at which the rear wheel tries to drive the engine faster. The slipper clutch allows some slip in the other direction. This enables the rear wheel to spin relatively freely from the drag of the engine.

3. Ride-By-Wire

When you twist your bike’s throttle for hard acceleration, the large and abrupt flow of air in the combustion chamber can cause the bike to stall for a moment. This results not only in poor combustion but a harsher ride. The ride-by-wire technology kicks in at this moment to create smoother acceleration. Ride-by-Wire technology eliminates any direct contact between the throttle butterflies and the twist grip. Therefore, once at full throttle, the butterflies would be open just enough to stop the airflow stalling.

4. Traction Control

This technology is otherwise known as wheel-spin control. Its purpose is to prevent excessive wheel spin. It does so by modulating the engine torque to allow the back wheel to drive forward constantly. A traction control system helps you to accelerate, steer, and brake more efficiently, resulting in you being able to ride much safer. It strengthens the grip between the bike and the road, preventing skidding.

Takeaway

It is beneficial to be up to date with the latest technologies in two-wheelers. Not only do they give you a smoother and more powerful ride, more importantly, but they also keep you safer on the roads. This is beneficial not only to you but to others on the roads.
