Star Health Cardiac Care policy offers comprehensive benefits for those who have undergone the surgery, intervention, correction, etc. for the first time. It is for those who have existing cardiac disease. This health policy is available in two parts i.e. Silver and Gold Plan. The Silver plan provides the coverage only for interventional and surgical management, whereas the Gold plan offers medical management too, in addition to surgical and interventional management.

Scope of Coverage

• Both Silver and Gold plans cover the cost of hospitalisation subject to accidents and non-cardiac ailments
• Outpatient benefits are covered under the policy
• All daycare procedures are covered
• Tax benefits under section 80D of the Income Tax Act
• Coverage for 30 days of pre-hospitalisation expenses and 60 days of post-hospitalisation expenses
• Emergency ambulance charges coverage up to Rs. 750 per hospitalisation and Rs. 1,500 per policy period
• The Gold variant of this plan offers coverage for Cardiac Medical Management
• The policy also provides personal accident death cover under both Gold and Silver plans

Eligibility

Anyone between the age group of 10 years and 65 years is eligible to buy Star Health Insurance Cardiac Care policy.

Exclusions

• Treatment of mental illnesses
• Treatment of diseases caused by AIDS, HIV or related complications
• Cost of spectacles, dental treatment, contact lenses
• Expenses incurred on birth control procedures
• War, strike, riot, nuclear weapons induced hospitalisation
