Delhi Makes Negative Covid Report Mandatory for Travellers from 5 States

According to latest reports, Delhi has made negative Covid-19 report mandatory for travellers arriving from five states. The order will come into effect from February 25 till March 15. People travelling from Maharashtra, Kerala, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Punjab will require a negative RT-PCR test to mark an entry to the national capital effective from Thursday. It must be noted that 200 fresh Covid-19 cases have been recorded in Delhi.
Due to a high rise in the number of Coronavirus cases in India, many states have made it mandatory for all the visitors to produce a Covid-19 test if they are arriving from Maharashtra, Gujarat, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh. It must be noted that some states have made RT-PCR tests mandatory for visitors, especially those travelling by air.
According to the Health Ministry, more than 74% of the novel Coronavirus cases are in Maharashtra and Kerala. Quite recently, Maharashtra had announced a state-wide ban on social, religious and political gatherings. Moreover, fresh local lockdowns or curbs in Pune and Amravati districts were also imposed.
A surge in daily coronavirus cases have also been seen in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab as well as the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
In the past 24 hours, 13,742 new coronavirus cases in India have been reported.
