Shanai Ghosh Named As Executive Director and CEO of Zuno General Insurance

Zuno General Insurance Limited (previously known as Edelweiss Group) is one of the most trusted insurance providers in the country. The company’s recently appointed Executive Director and CEO, Shanai Ghosh is just as trusted and a highly experienced woman leading Zuno. With over 20 years of experience in the financial services, banking, and insurance sector Shanai is a force to reckon with. She has experience in operations, service, distribution, marketing, analytics, and corporate strategy. Her experienced background makes her an ideal leader. Having worked in both start-ups and large stable staged companies, she has accurate knowledge of the workings of a corporate firm. 

She is a graduate in Mathematics from St. Stephens College, University of Delhi (1992-1995). Having done her MBA from IIM Bangalore (1995-1997), she has a strong base and a background in a multitude of domains. Started her career as a manager at Citi Bank (1997-2002) and moved forward in her career as a senior manager at TATA AIG Life Insurance, as Chief Strategy Officer at Reliance Nippon Life Insurance, AU Small Finance Bank, and now as the CEO of  Zuno, Shanai’s growth journey is tremendous and note-worthy. 

Zuno General Insurance is a customer-oriented and innovative company. They offer General Insurance products such as health, motor, loan, and home insurance. Ms.Ghosh started her journey in Zuno General Insurance as the Chief of Marketing, Commercial, and Strategy in 2017. Working her way through to now being the CEO and Executive Director, Shanai Ghosh is now leading one of the most customer-oriented and technologically innovative companies.

In an interview with MintGenie, Shanai Ghosh talked about how the insurance industry has come a long way. “We have transformed from old-school insurance companies to now digitally advanced industries offering customers faster and easier ways to stress-free life”.

Zuno General Insurance has grown and now has a capital of Rs. 2000+ crores capital and a claim settlement ratio of 98%. Zuno is offering their customers easier and faster ways of recovering from their financial burden through their products and services. Under the leadership of Ghosh, Zuno General Insurance Limited has come a long way. A few of their achievements such as Best BFSI Technology  Award- Cloud, Customer Fest Awards- 2021, Top 25 Financial Innovation of India-2020, Best Customer Experience Team of the Year, 2020, and Best FinTech India Award, 2021.

Shania Ghosh being a women leader in the insurance industry has also talked about equality and how Zuno has 21% of women employees and 8% of senior employees and how she wishes to increase these numbers in the future. Zuno General Insurance Limited offers employment based on merit rather than gender.
