National Insurance Company Ltd. Appoints a New CMD

Tajinder Mukherjee has taken control as the new Chairman and Managing Director of National Insurance Company Ltd. (NIC). She has taken charge from September 2018, prior to which she was the General Manager and Chief Underwriting Officer of New India Assurance.
Tajinder Mukherjee holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Delhi University. She has over 33 years of experience and is a Fellow in Insurance of the Insurance Institute of India. In the year 1983, Mukherjee had joined the United India Assurance Company, where she held a number of important portfolios, National Insurance Company Ltd. said in a release.
National Insurance Company is a state-owned general insurance company in India that operates with a catchline “Trusted since 1906” in Italic as it was established in the same year. The company is the country’s oldest general insurance company. Headquartered in Kolkata, the company was nationalised in the year 1972. It is currently dealing in Motor insurance, Health insurance, Personal insurance, Rural insurance, Industrial risk insurance and Commercial risk insurance.
