Edelweiss General Insurance Company Limited, one of the popular insurance players in the insurance industry in India, has lately launched an add-on by the name of ‘Health 241’ for its health insurance . The literary meaning of ‘241’ is ‘two for one’ policy. It means the product allows policy buyers to pay the premium for one year and avail free cover next year. This is possible because if the ‘Health 241’ is bought with any of the Health Insurance Policies of Edelweiss and the policyholder does not raise any claim during the first year, he or she can get coverage absolutely free for the second year.
Edelweiss General Insurance claims this product to be the first-of-its-kind feature introduced by any general insurance company in India. The Health 241 add-on benefit is available for both individuals as well as family floater policyholders. One can buy this product while purchasing an Edelweiss Health Insurance Product. The benefit of premium waiver is applicable during the first renewal of the policy in case of no claim is payable or paid during the first year. The add-on also offers some additional features and services. For example, it offers a guaranteed bed option, zero deposit, and zero discharge feature.
Guaranteed bed feature means the policyholders surely gets a bed in hospitals listed under the health insurance policy. The zero deposit feature means policyholders need not to pay the deposit amount at the time of admission in network hospitals. The guaranteed ‘zero’ discharge time is applicable for 19 procedures currently. All these benefits of the Health 241 add-on can be availed during the claim-free year.
