3rd Edition of SBI Green Marathon in Bengaluru Witnesses More Than 3,500 Runners
State Bank of India organised the 3rd edition of SBI Green Marathon to celebrate the passion for a sustainable environment and better living for the future generations. The event took place in the Toll Plaza, Nice Road and witnessed more than 3,500 enthusiastic runners from across the city.
In the event, participants ran for 5, 10, and 21 kms marathon for a greener future. The runs were flagged off by CGM of Bangalore Circle, Abhijit Majumder and the event was graced by the Arjuna awardee Indian athlete and Asian Games gold medalist (2014 and 2018), M.R. Poovamma.
The event observed participation from the senior officials of SBI also apart from other participants. With a motive to promote a clean and green city, the participants were gifted organic t-shirts. The bibs of participants running for 5 km had seeds which will be planted after the event.
The 3rd edition of the 15 cities SBI Green marathon will move to Delhi, Bhubaneshwar, Chennai, Chandigarh, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Patna, Jaipur, and Bhopal. The inaugural run has been concluded recently in Lucknow and will take place next in Guwahati and Trivandrum.
The general insurer SBI General Insurance is also significantly contributing to this event by being the health partner for SBI Green Marathon. Even SBI Life and SBI Mutual Funds have lent support to the zero-waste event in a way or the other.
