Want to Apply For Your Bike’s PUC Certificate? Here’s How You Can Do It!

How To Apply For Bike’s PUC Certificate?

For a new Bike the dealer will automatically provide a pollution control certificate (PUCC), which is valid for 1 year. You must then follow the following steps to get a PUC Certificate for existing Bikes:

  • Find a PUC facility in your area. It can either be a gas pump, a licenced testing centre for auto-emission or a standalone private testing centre for emissions.
  • Scan your exhaust pipe by the test manager to determine your Bike's emission levels
  • You will receive a Bike PUC Certificate with your test results after you have paid the required fee.

Only those centres and RTOs mentioned above can now provide an online PUC Certificate. You could still check online the pollution certification, learn how the PUC Certificate is valid, and pay online with the Parivahan Sewa online PUC certificate.

How To Check Online Puc Or Regulated Pollution Status?

You can do some of your own online checking for pollution under control certificates and get all information on the pollution control certificate throughout the following steps:

  • Visit
  • Click on the section on the PUC Certificate
  • Enter your chassis number, and the last five characters, and fill in your captcha code.

Through this process, you can check your Bike's PUC Certificate online and know if PUCC is active, its validity and readings.

What is the Validity of Bike PUC Certificate?

The emission levels differ with the age of the Bike. The government made it mandatory for the owner to check the level of pollution regularly and to get a valid online or offline contamination certificate. The standards for the validity of India's PUC Certificate are:

Validity Of the New Bike’s PUC Certificate: As already mentioned, new Bikes come with a PUC certificate valid for a year and subject to renewal according to the guidelines of the government.

Validity Of the Old Bike’s PUC Certificate:For old Bikes, the validity of a PUC certificate falls at 6 months for old Bikes. The validity time frame will depend on the pollution levels recorded in the situation of adverse reading.

According to the Motor Vehicles Act, carrying your vehicle's registration certificate, insurance document, and a valid driver's licence is required, as is carrying your vehicle's pollution under control certificate. If you cannot do so, you will be charged under the Motor Vehicles Act, and a heavy fine will be imposed for not having a PUC Certificate on you. Follow the above steps and always have a PUC Certificate on you whenever you are on the road.
