When is a Child Rider Denied?

In case your child has a pre-existing medical condition, the insurer may deny you the addition of a child rider to your insurance. It is also applicable in case you have more than one child, where one gets covered while the others do not, due to some pre-existing medical condition. 

Can a Child Rider be Converted?

Yes, a child rider is convertible once your child reaches age. It can be converted into a permanent insurance policy. The cover amount is usually more than that which was provided by the original child rider.


A child rider helps you cover small expenses that might incur on the untimely death of your children like funeral expenses or medical bills. In case, your child survives, it only helps to serve them with the protective cover of a permanent insurance policy.
