Apollo Munich Renamed as HDFC Ergo Health Insurance, Existing Policyholders Need Not Worry

HDFC has completed the acquisition of 51.25% shares in Apollo Munich Health Insurance Company Limited (AMHI). With this, the existing policyholders of Apollo Munich Health Insurance have now become a part of HDFC Ergo Health Insurance. But if you are also a policyholder of AMHI, then do not worry about the consequences. HDFC Ergo has ensured that the policy terms and conditions including claim process and benefits will not change.
In a regulatory filing, HDFC Ergo said, “Subsequent to this approval (regulatory), Apollo Munich Health Insurance Co Ltd has been renamed as HDFC ERGO Health Insurance Ltd (HDFC ERGO Health) and will operate as a subsidiary of HDFC Ltd.”
