LIC allows the policyholders to make online premium payments in order to keep their policy active. In case a policyholder misplaces their LIC policy receipt, then in such a case, they should not worry as it can be downloaded easily from the official website of the insurance company.
Steps to Download LIC Premium Receipt Online
For Registered Users
You can download your LIC premium receipt online by following the below given easy steps:
Step 1: Visit the official website of LIC. Click on ‘LICs e-Services’.
Step 2: In case you are already registered, then select ‘Registered User’. On the web page displayed, you are required to enter your username and password.
Step 3: You will then be directed to the welcome screen of LIC’s e-Services.
Step 4: On the displayed screen, you will find two options - ‘Consolidated Premium Paid Statement’ and ‘Individual Policy Paid Statement’. Here the first option can be used to download payments statements for premium for each policy that you have bought from LIC. While, the latter option is used to download payment statements of premium for the individual policies bought by the insurance company.
Step 5: Afterwards, you are required to select the fiscal year and in case, you want to download an ‘individual Policy Paid Statement’, then you need to select the policy number.
Step 6: You can download the receipt in PDF format. Also, if you wish to obtain a hard copy of the same, you can take a print out of the payment receipt.
Registration Process on LIC Portal for New Users
You can get yourself registered on the LIC Portal by following the below given easy steps:
Step 1: Visit the official website of LIC. On the left side of the web page find ‘Online Services’ and select ‘Customer Portal’.
Step 2: Under the ‘ Functionalities Offered’ section you need to select ‘Registration for e-Services’. You will find two options - ‘New user’ and another is for ‘Registered User’.
Step 3: Choose ‘New User’ option and enter the details as required. The details that need to be entered includes the policy number of your LIC policy, Date of birth of the policyholder, and the premium. Also, the person needs to enter their person details such as e-mail ID and mobile number.
Step 4: After entering the details, press ‘Proceed’.
Step 5: You are then required to choose a User ID and Password, which would become the login credentials for your customer portal.
Step 6: On the registered email-ID of the user, a welcome mail confirming the registration for LIC e-Services will be sent by the insurance company.
It is significant for a policyholder to have their policy receipt handy especially towards the end of the financial year. This is due to the fact that the receipt acts as a proof of the premium payment made by the customer and also to avail the tax benefits.
