Updated On Jul 07, 2021

Telemedical Test is a new developing concept that emerged as a saviour during the time of the pandemic. When the COVID-19 pandemic was on its peak and the hospitals were not able to take in more patients that it's capacity this concept came as a helping hand to the normal people as well as the heroes working in the medical and healthcare system. A Telemedical Test  is basically a virtual meeting between the patient and the doctor or the physician. In this virtual meeting that can be done over a phone call or a video call the patient can fix an appointment and meet the dedicated doctor to discuss the ailment or the symptoms. The doctor or the physician can then consult with the patient and give the required suggestion, medication or prescription.

This method was really helpful to the medical system as already the hospitals were jam packed with the COVID positive patients. It was not safe and advisable for the people to visit hospitals in such conditions. Hence, Telemedical Tests were the only way to maintain the connection between the medical experts and the people.

Telemedical Test in Case of Child Policy

In case of Child Policies usually the insurance company doesn't ask for any medical examination to be conducted. As the age factor plays a major role in policies, it is common that younger people are much more healthier. But in some cases where a few basic medical tests were required the insured can use the Telemedical Tests to provide the required medical documents to the insurance company. These are specifically those tests which do not require a sample that needs to be tested. In many cases some private labs emerged to come up with a solution to this problem where they started sending experts in PP KITS to the houses to collect the samples.

What All Does A Medical Test Include?

This is one of the first and foremost questions that comes to our mind before we decide to purchase a policy. The tests include the samples for blood and urine etc. In many cases, blood pressure, ECG, and few other tests are required and the medical history of the insured person is also checked.

Policies with no Medical Tests and Telemedical Tests if required. Insurance plans with no medical examinations are also available which means that there is no need to provide any Medical Test results which eliminates the requirement of Telemedical Tests. Medical Tests are important because they guarantee that there will be no issue while asking for the claim. If there is any discrepancy because of the medical examinations then you will not be able to settle the claim. According to a survey the importance of medical examinations can be understood in a better way by looking at the results of that particular survey. It was noticed that every year more than 3% of the claims are rejected because of any problem that arises because of medical issues. It is advisable and in some cases mandated to mention the details about your medical conditions and medical history in the documents so that it would not cause any problem during the claim.

Factors Which Affect the Requirement For a Medical Test

Following are few factors which may affect the requirement of a medical test under a child plan -

Age

The insurance company takes the risk and liability factor into consideration. In case the life assured is young then the individual is considered to be healthy. In case of Child Insurance it is obvious that the medical tests are not much necessary until the child is suffering from any previous medical ailment or disease.

Higher Sum Assured

In case the insured person is choosing a policy with higher sum assured value then the insurance companies do conduct a proper medical test. In case of the pandemic people who were applying for a child policy were asked to send sample reports through post. The insured person was informed about the medical reports which are required and then was asked to send the reports to the company.

Medical History of the Insured

In case of any pre-existing medical ailment or disease the company will ask you to undergo medical tests and will advise you to mention the same on the policy forms. These things are to be taken into consideration by the company as they need to see if there are any possibilities of worsening of the disease. If you fail to do so and if there is a situation where you raise a claim and such a condition is highlighted which was not known to the insurance company will lead to denial of the claim.

Conclusion

Sadly there is no policy till now that covers a pandemic such as COVID, however there are other things that are to be taken care of for your children. Medical expenses or educational expenses all are covered under a Child Policy. And to ensure the safety of the child at present Telemedical Tests are conducted to get the required reports and to ensure the safety of the child in future, the insurance companies offer a beneficial plan and policy structure to the customer.
